"Daughters of the Dust" tells the story of a family of African-Americans who have lived for many years on a Southern offshore island, and of how they come together one day in 1902 to celebrate their ancestors before some of them leave for the North. The film is narrated by an unborn child, and ancestors already dead also seem to be as present as the living.。在春风得意的时候，谁都不会想到自己有一天会流浪街头，尼古拉斯就是如此。作为一个年轻有为的保险公司主管，一场阴谋让他一夜之间失去一切。一年后，他决定夺回属于自己的一切。。
