在泰国沿海村庄，大批罗兴亚难民淹死在海边。一位青年渔夫在丛林中发现了一个昏迷不醒的男子，他将这个陌生人救回家中。被救的男子一言不发，渔夫给他起名叫通猜。两个男人开始一起生活，并慢慢在彼此之间产生了无言的牵系。渔夫用来吸引蝠鲼（又称“魔鬼鱼”）的闪亮宝石，象征着他们的友情。一天晚上，渔夫登上渔船出海打渔，再也没有回来，留下通猜独自一人。渐渐地，通猜开始接管了渔夫的生活——他的房子、他的工作，以及他的前妻。。飞机上的一个乘客突然变得癫狂，又遭遇到飞机强气流，待一切平稳下来，这名乘客已经突发性脑水肿死亡。而这名乘客身份并不普通。他是某保姆单位的高级研究人员，因涉嫌向外间谍组织出卖国家情报而遭到了有关部门的监控。他的离奇死亡使得这场监控和追捕遭到了停滞。而这时，国安局逮住了死者的弟弟王浩。于是想出一计，让侦查员沈亢（孙红雷 饰）扮成王浩，进而引蛇出洞。而这场卧底追捕，与王浩的中间联系人就是飞机上的空姐李小晚（傅晶 饰）。二人在一来二往中，互生情愫。但无奈卧底的身份不得暴露，小晚则纠结王浩黑社会的身份。 随着侦查案件的加深，二人则面临着更大的挑战……。SYNOPSIS Urgently called, the police inspector has arrived in a hotel, and didn't find any crime, but noticed some strangenesses occurring there. (Strugatsky Brothers website) NOTES This is a crime / mystery thriller with surreal and psychedelic science fiction overtones based on a book Inspector Glebsky's Puzzle by the Strugatsky brothers. The screenplay was also written by the brothers and it differs from the book. The less you know about the movie the better starting point you have. The film is based largely on the mystery of what's happening to the people of Dead Mountaineer's Hotel. Is everything what it seems? Who's dead or who's not?。
