拍過近期的《飄零雙燕》《 Malina 》的德國新電影勇將華拉．史洛特，一向被視前衛電影的追隨者，他這齣80年代的《玫瑰花神》，便要跟尚．高克多的詩意電影直接對話。一連串沒有直接關聯的影象，一方面建造一個玫瑰花園的空間，另方面將一段三角戀，一段由母親、兒子和他的情人組成的孽戀，血淋淋的擺在觀眾眼前。安娜與兒子住在古堡裡，種植玫瑰，關係噯昧，但當兒子發現美少年費南道，驚嘆天公造美之餘，便將他禁固起來，據為己有。每天用花朵餵他，替他泡花浴。當性意象愈來愈露骨時，影片就愈發迫近肢解和死亡的高潮。。Jimmy Connors and his girlfriend want to take part in Paul Whiteman's high school bands contest, but they cannot afford the fare.
