柏林这些天连续发生了多起小女孩失踪事件，最后发现这些孩子都无一例外惨遭毒手。这个专门以小女孩为目标的凶手令到柏林城内人人惊恐，家长都不敢让自己的孩子外出玩耍；警察们更是在社会压力下全部出动，然而却一无所获；连黑道都感到压力了，因为警察们一天到晚找他们麻烦，大大影响了他们 的生意。于是黑白两道同时展开了抓拿凶手行动。 　　最终人们还是从一位卖气球的盲人小贩处获得线索，他曾经卖过气球给于凶手一同前来的小女孩，他根据凶手的口哨声认出了此人经常来买气球。聪明的小贩在凶手背后写了个字母“M”，于是警查们开始追寻这个凶手“M”（彼得·洛 饰）。。Two paranormal investigators are unexpectedly thrown together in the hope of solving a 100 year mystery.
