《皇家饭》：特警健在请病假期间，因拯救被劫之叶安娜而打伤三人，另因帮助一的士司机又打伤绰号“坏脑”的凶徒，警方将健停职调查，重案组陈帮办追查一宗珠宝劫案，疑犯老虎逃脱，虎与“坏脑”计划打劫解款车。“坏脑”在街上看见健和叶与友人沙展文一起，“坏脑”向他们开枪，叶受伤，文横死，健要为文报仇，他查得虎地址，开始跟踪他，在虎和“坏脑”打劫时健通知陈帮办，两人合力追捕，终于虎及“坏脑”难逃法网，死在健和陈的枪下。。Morse finds himself the subject of a murder investigation when his friend, Beryl Newsome, is murdered at a rehearsal of the Magic Flute and he foolishly touches the murder weapon. Morse is suspended and DCI Bottomley, with DS Lewis assisting him, is put in charge of the case.
