Before long, the bay boy of bowls is turning the sedate and very English pastime...。孙大雷（李光洁饰）和苏芸（赵子琪饰）相恋多年，却依旧逃不脱离婚的命运。离婚之后，两人的一双儿女由苏芸照顾。某日，苏芸得知自己由于工作的关系即将前往香港一年，无法照料孩子们，而在这个节骨眼上，本应该承担抚养责任的孙大雷居然懦弱的退缩了。苏芸的男友黄新华（高亚麟饰）接手照料起了两个孩子，这一举动激起了孙大雷的好胜心，他决定同这个男人一决高下。然而，从来没有带过孩子的孙大雷不仅惹出了许多的麻烦和笑话，还在误会之中同儿女产生了矛盾，看着孩子们心中的天平渐渐向踏实可靠的黄新华倾斜而去，孙大雷的心里只能干着急。。
