本剧讲述了知足常乐的京剧团道具师傅张卫国（黄磊饰）做了大半辈子的京剧，虽然过着特别普通的生活，却深信自己是“皇家的后裔”。在一次参加剧团师兄弟的聚会上，一群各自失意的中年男人开始各种浮夸的自我包装和互相攀比，带着这种包装回到生活的张卫国，经历了以为自己暴富，却又一夜负债，在一系列大喜大悲和鸡飞狗跳之后，最终卸下伪装，直面真实的自己的故事。。I can see people will either love or hate this movie, depending on your own experiences and loves. Its basically about a incredibly obese police officer coming to terms with his own mortality (he is given a year to live at the start of the movie).
